Opportunities To Serve The City

While Living Word financially supports many inner city ministries, we encourage our volunteers to donate gifts and acts of practical service to the following ministries throughout the year:

New York City Rescue Mission

From: 3:30PM	To: 7:00PM	Sunday Afternoons
Location: 90 Lafayette Street (corner of White & Lafayette Street)

Group Needed: 5-8 helpers/servers
Service: Assist in serving dinner meal to homeless men. Periodic clothing drives for the men Periodic Gospel Service

Bowery Mission Women's Center

From: 4:30PM	To: 7:00PM	Saturday Evenings
Location: 216 East 70th Street (between 2nd & 3rd Avenue)

Group Needed: 5-8 (female only) helpers/servers
Service: Assist in shopping/cooking/serving dinner to female residents in recovery program. Periodic Clothing Drives for ladies Periodic Gospel Service

St. Paul's House

From: 7:00 AM	To: 9:00 AM	Sunday Mornings
Location: 335 West 51st Street (between 8th & 9th Avenue)

Group Needed: 1 gospel speaker and 5-8 helpers/servers
Service: Assist in cooking/serving breakfast and preaching at morning gospel service to homeless men

Teen Challenge - Brooklyn

From: 7:00 PM	To: 9:00 PM	Saturday Evenings
Location: 444 Clinton Avenue, BKLYN ("A" train to Clinton-Washington Streets)

Group Needed: 1 gospel speaker
Service: Preach at the evening gospel service

Sanctuary for Families

Location: Lower Manhattan (safe house location)

Needs: Christmas gifts for children and mothers escaping domestic abuse
Service: Provide holiday gifts for families recovering from abuse

Matthew 25:34-36
